Join us for the launch of Natasha Rai's new book 'A Onslaught of Light'!
AN ONSLAUGHT OF LIGHT, published by Pantera Press, follows the Sharma family after their move from India to Australia. Parents, Vijay and Indu, struggle in a recession-struck Australia, while their daughter Arch develops a tough exterior to counter the bullying and racism she faces at school. In the present day, Arch is estranged from her family, and when she is forced to care for her ailing father, she must confront a long-buried grief and come to terms with her cultural and queer identity. Can Arch let in the light?
Author Natasha Rai is a writer and somatic counsellor. AN ONSLAUGHT OF LIGHT was longlisted for the 2017 Richell Prize, 2018 KYD Unpublished Manuscript award, and highly commended for the 2022 Ultimo Press/Westwords Prize. Natasha’s nonfiction appears in anthologies on gender violence. Her short fiction appears in Mascara Literary Review, Overland, Verity La, and StylusLit.
