The Midterm Conference of the National Council of Women of Australia (NCWA) marks a significant point within our triennium - a time to reconnect, reflect, and reaffirm our shared purpose.

Bringing together members from across the nation, this gathering provides an opportunity to strengthen relationships, share knowledge, and shape the collective advocacy agenda for the years ahead. As a volunteer-led organisation, our strength lies not only in our work, but in the fellowship and camaraderie that sustain it.

Through collaboration, dialogue, and informed decision-making, this conference centres our members and affiliated organisations - ensuring that our many voices contribute meaningfully to advancing the status of women in Australia.

Day 1: Sunday - half day with lunch and afternoon tea included

Registration from 11:30am (tea and coffee refreshments on arrival)

Sunday afternoon will feature presentations from Constituent Councils and the NCWA Executive, including discussion of the outcomes of the membership survey.

Evening: For those who wish to attend a conference dinner will be organised. A separate dinner link will be confirmed. The dinner will be a separate additional cost and will be determined at a later time.

Day 2: Monday - full day - morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea included

Monday morning will see advocacy resolutions discussed and voted on.

Later in the afternoon, we will explore the work of our affiliate members and issues central to NCWA’s core priorities.

OurWatch - Patty Kinnersly, CEO and Dr Sanjugta Vas Dev, Director Government Relations

Australian Multicultural Women's Alliance(AMWA - on of the 6 women's Alliances) - Malini Raj, Executive Director

Monash University - Dr Naomi Pfitzner, Director, Monash Gender and Family Violence Prevention Hub, Senior Lecturer in Criminology.

Panel - Sunday 28th June - Suzanne Howarth (NCW ACT including three years as the Human Rights Adviser during the Presidency of Robyn Nolan. Spent 4 years on the Executive of the International Law Section of the Law Council of Australia) will lead a panel discussion on Women's Voices in Advocacy.

Useful information

Delegates will receive a digital conference booklet and copies of resolutions, followed by a post-conference report summarising discussions and outcomes.

Open to all NCW members, Constituent Councils, affiliated organisations and supporters.  

Accommodation

It may be useful for you to know the Museum of Democracy, Old Parliament House have a partnership with DOMA hotels group (Hotel Realm, Little National Hotel, Burbury Hotel, Brassey Hotel) for a 20% discount for your guests when you book an event with us.
