National Council of Women of Australia National Triennial Conference 2024

On:  Thursday 21st November and Friday 22nd November 2024

Venue:  University of Adelaide, Union House.

Day 1: Thursday - All day conference including the Annual General Meeting of NCWA - All NCW members welcome and encouraged to participate.

Registration from 8am (tea and coffee and light breakfast refreshments on arrival)

Working lunch provided to all registrants.

NOTE: Thursday - 3.15pm - 4.15pm: All attendees registered for the Conference will be invited to attend a reception being hosted by Her Excellency the Governor of South Australia, Frances Adamson AC.

Evening: Registrants are free to enjoy an evening in Adelaide. A list of restaurants will be circulated shortly - bookings will be arranged so that all registrants and attendees can enjoy an evening of friendship and fellowship.

Day 2: Friday - half day with morning tea included - Expert speakers will be joining us for an important Symposium.

We will be reaching out to school-aged attendees too to join us.

Chantelle Stratford

Chantelle is a passionate feminist and gender equality expert dedicated to advocating for and creating lasting improvements for women and non-binary people globally. As the Chair of the APEC Global Policy Partnership on Women and the Economy and Australia’s Principal Gender Specialist in G20, Chantelle plays a key role in shaping global economic dialogues through a feminist lens.  Chantelle has served as the Head of Australia’s Office for Women, where she oversaw the introduction of key economic and social policy reforms, including legislating pay transparency, introducing Australia’s first gender budgeting system, and securing policy reform for women in paid parental leave, housing, care economy and industrial relations.  Prior to this she led national policy on Women’s Safety for many years, notably steering the National Plan to Reduce Violence Against Women and their Children.  As part of the 2024 Australia Day Order of Australia Honours, Chantelle received a Public Service Medal for outstanding leadership and innovation in gender equality and women’s policy. She holds advanced degrees in gender equality and public policy. 

Cecilia Wallin, Founding Partner, Onemi-Global Solutions

Graduating with a Master of Laws from Uppsala University, Cecilia commenced her law enforcement career in 2005 with the Swedish Police Authority, focusing on combatting child sexual exploitation. Over the next 18 years she served with the Swedish National Police Cyber Crime Unit and at INTERPOL’s Crimes against Children in Lyon, Bangkok and Singapore, leading and supporting international law enforcement operations, managing the ICSE database, and developing and delivering victim identification trainings. In January 2020, she was awarded the Commissioner's Group Citation for Conspicuous Conduct by the Australian Federal Police for her efforts in Operation Blackwrist. Now, Cecilia consults and delivers training to government and non-government organizations, industry partners and law enforcement agencies across the world.

Ana B. Moreno, Global Alliance for Care

Social anthropologist and journalist with over 30 years of experience in public policy, international, and local sustainable development projects. Specializes in defining and implementing collaboration platforms and multi-stakeholder alliances, participating in intergovernmental processes, and designing advocacy and outreach strategies for sustainable development and resource mobilization. Notable roles include serving as
Coordinator for the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development (Habitat III) and the UN-Habitat World Urban Forum (2012-2018), as well as Director of the UN-Habitat Office for Brunei-Darussalam, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. Additionally, has held key positions with the Barcelona City Council, Spain’s Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, and the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
