National Dying To Know Day Expo
Event description
Bulimba Community Centre, in proud partnership with end-of-life specialist Sherryl Searles (Director - Honouring the Season), will host Brisbane’s first Dying to Know Day Expo.
This community event invites people of all ages to explore one of life’s most universal yet avoided topics: death.
The event will feature four expert speakers on palliative care, funeral planning, voluntary assisted dying, and legacy creation. Over a dozen information stalls will offer free resources on topics such as advance care planning, home-based care, and bereavement support.
Part of a national initiative launched in 2013, Dying to Know Day encourages Australians to improve death literacy and take proactive steps in end-of-life planning.
Organiser Sherryl Searles says: “Talking about death won’t bring it on—but not talking about it leaves loved ones with more than grief.”
