National Flag Day Celebration
Description
The Hon Milton Dick MP, Speaker of the House of Representatives, invites you to celebrate the Australian National Flag's 125th anniversary on Australian National Flag Day.
The Australian flag that flies above Parliament House is quite special. It measures 12.8 metres long and 6.4 meters high, about the same size as a double-decker bus!
Would you like to learn more? Come and celebrate our national flag with a special unfurling where you can join a live demonstration as staff carefully unfurl the flag and tell you about how it is handled, maintained and flown. You'll also have the chance to get involved and help with the unfurling!
Come along to hear about the flag and its history, be delighted by our local choir, and afterwards take a photo with the flag that flies above Australia's home of democracy.
Plan your visit today.
We look forward to welcoming you to Parliament House. Please note, this event is subject to change at short notice.
