National Māori Nurses Hui - Te Kaunihera o Ngā Neehi Māori o Aotearoa 2026

Join Māori nurses, nursing leaders, and health professionals from across Aotearoa for the Te Kaunihera o Ngā Neehi Māori National Hui 2026 in Palmerston North.

This annual hui is a special opportunity to come together as a collective, strengthen connections, share knowledge, celebrate our achievements, and explore the future of Māori nursing and hauora.

Our hui will begin with a Pōwhiri at 11.00am on Wednesday, bringing us together in the spirit of whakawhanaungatanga and setting the foundation for three days of learning, inspiration, and connection.

Over the course of the hui, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from an outstanding lineup of speakers who are leading, influencing, and shaping health outcomes for our people. Through engaging presentations, thought-provoking discussions, and interactive breakout sessions, we will explore the issues, challenges, and opportunities facing Māori health and the nursing workforce today.

Breakout sessions will cover a range of topics including mental health, advanced clinical scenarios, research and leadership, providing practical insights and valuable learning that can be applied across a variety of nursing and healthcare settings.

Whether you are a new graduate, experienced clinician, educator, researcher, manager, or leader, there will be something for everyone. This is your opportunity to connect with colleagues from across the motu, be inspired by the experiences and wisdom of others, share your own journey, and contribute to the ongoing growth and strength of Māori nursing.

Together, we will celebrate Māori leadership, innovation, and excellence in nursing while supporting our collective aspiration of achieving equitable health outcomes for whānau, hapū, and iwi. As we gather, learn, and share, we continue our Māori journey to excellence, strengthening the future of Māori nursing for generations to come.
