Event description

Come and enjoy National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) at Bathurst Library, reading a story at the same time as thousands of other libraries, schools, and bookshops across Australia.

We will be reading Truck Cat written by Deborah Frenkel and illustrated by Danny Snell at 12noon sharp, followed by more stories, songs, and rhymes. Plus, an interactive demonstration of our FREE library kid’s databases and a take home craft.

Please arrive from 11:45am to be ready to start at 12noon sharp.

NSS is a fun annual event promoting the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children's book exploring age-appropriate themes, and addressing key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Foundation to Year 6.

  • Suggested ages 0-10yrs / Families / Preschool classes
  • FREE activity - bookings are essential
  • Please let us know if you need to cancel your ticket or use the online cancellation link on your confirmation email. 
  • All children and parents/carers attending should have their own ticket booked.
  • Preschool or daycare groups of up to 20 are welcome, please call us to enquire about larger groups, 6333 6281.
  • Please note that children under 10yrs must have a parent/carer supervising them throughout the event.
