Event description

National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS), organised annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), features a picture book by an Australian author and illustrator read simultaneously across various venues nationwide. Celebrating its 25th year, this vibrant event promotes reading and literacy, aligning with the National Curriculum for Foundation to Year 6.

This year’s NSS book is “The Truck Cat” written by Deborah Frenkel and illustrated by Danny Snell will be read by City of Stirling Mayor, Mark Irwin at Stirling Libraries – Scarborough.

The Truck Cat is a story about cats and humans, immigration and identity, and homes lost and found. Along with his human, Yacoub, Tinka travels roads wide and narrow, near and distant. But no matter how much they travel, home feels very far away – for both of them.
