Sessions in Apollo Bay, Winchelsea, Cobden and Batesford

This National Water Week, the Corangamite Catchment Management Authority invites all citizen scientists to a free introductory session on iNaturalist, the online biodiversity citizen science platform.

Join us for an informal session where you’ll learn how to upload observations by practising with some intriguing macroinvertebrates collected from a local waterway, then continue the iNaturalist journey with us as we record more biodiversity these waterways have to offer over the session.

This year, the Great Southern Bioblitz (24–27 October) overlaps with National Water Week, so it’s the perfect time to learn the skills you need to contribute to this international spring biodiversity survey!

Enjoy morning tea provided while you connect with CCMA staff and fellow nature enthusiasts.
Sessions will run for about an hour at the following locations: Apollo Bay, Winchelsea, Cobden, and Batesford.

Everyone is welcome so please share with your friends.

Children under 18years must be accompanied by a guardian.

What to bring & do before the event:

Comfortable, closed toed footwear
Warm clothing
Binoculars and a camera are also handy if you have available.
Charged mobile phone/tablet for access to iNaturalist If you don't have iNaturalist already, we recommend you download here for android and apple, or use the QR Code below.
Join our Great Southern Bioblitz inaturalist project and get ready to participate. Even if you aren't able to attend any of the training sessions, you can still contribute to this international event by making sure you are out and recording observations on iNaturalist between the dates of 24th- 27th October!
