Native Australian Festive PrintShop with Emilie
Event description
Join us for a drop-in craft workshop for complete beginners, with a focus on festive-themed printmaking! You can make your own wrapping pager, gift tags, festive cards and more!
Choose or stay for three options:
- Make your own wrapping paper with native flora and fauna linocut carved stamps (print station - 10 to 20 minutes)
- Make your own Xmas cards in printmaking (print station - 10 to 20 minutes)
- Carve your own Xmas stamps! and then print with them (carving station - 20 minutes)
Emilie will have a selection of custom stamps for this event. The theme of the stamps is native flora and fauna : Xmas beetle, native flowers blooming around Xmas time, Xmas gum nuts and more...
Please note: This event is supported by City Precinct and City of Melbourne and TOTALLY FREE! This event is not suitable for children, adults only.
This is a drop-in workshop and you can just show up but bookings will definitely help us have materials ready for everyone.

Who will be teaching?Â
Emilie (she/her) is an artist and educator based
between Melbourne and Marseille (Fr), working across media with a focus
on community-based practice and education. She graduated from her PhD in
Fine Arts at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2020 and has been an
art resident at Testing Grounds (2020), Making Space (2021) and the
Comic Art Workshop (2021).
Emilie has exhibited her works at FortyFive Downstairs gallery, the
Abbotsford convent, No Vacancy Gallery, Arcade and George Patton
Gallery.
In 2021, Emilie opened Couleur in Collingwood, a printmaking studio focusing on DIY, hand-prints, and experimental printmaking. Since 2023, Couleur Studio has relocated in South of France. Emilie is also a comic book artist and her illustration has been published by the Lifted Brow and she self-published her first graphic novel in 2018 with Tree Paper Comics in Melbourne. In 2023 she is running Glow Comics Trails festival with Laneway Learning, celebrating Melbourne's booming comics scene.
