Event description

Yaama, all are welcome to come and celebrate the revitalization of Australian native grains at this annual harvest festival. This event is hosted by the Native Grains Program team of the University of Sydney, working with Gamilaraay and Yuwalaraay community to find a pathway to an Indigenous-led industry.  Come and learn how the grains can help realise a vision of healthy Country and healthy people.

Wed Feb 5th:
Grain spotting, field harvesting, ways of threshing, yarning
Thurs Feb 6th:
Grinding, baking bread, grain grazing, yarning

Tea/coffee and lunch provided both days.

We pay our deep respects to the custodians of Country upon which our work takes place, the Gadigal and Gamilaraay people. Always was, always will be.
