Native Orchids of the Southern Tablelands - Photography exhibition and live chat
Event description
The Terrestrial Orchids of the Southern Tablelands photo exhibition and live talk provides insight into native plants with photographer John Weatherstone.
John has spent many years studying and photographing orchids, he is a Land for Wildlife assessor and considered one of the leading enthusiasts in the Southern Tablelands.
As a photographer, he uses a relatively new technique called focus stacking that gives a depth of field in close-up images. His collection of stunning images includes many threatened species.
Through the Land for Wildlife program, John visits local properties to advise landholders on protecting and enhancing remnant habitats or rare and endangered orchids. More information about joining Land for Wildlife will be available on the night.
This event will be held in the Old Ceramics Hall entry via Verner Street. Food and drink provided.
This exhibition is jointly run by K2W Link and supported through the Cores, Corridors and Koalas - a partnership between the Great Eastern Ranges and WWF- Australia to restore the health and resilience of habitat for forest-dependent native wildlife post-fire.
