Join Natural Hazards Research Australia team as we celebrate our fifth annual Natural Hazards Research Forum at the National Wine Centre in Adelaide from 10 to 12 June 2026.
The theme for NHRF26, leading to impact for safer, more resilient and sustainable communities, celebrates the power of research to drive knowledge creation and real-world change. It highlights the Centre’s commitment to turning knowledge into action - research that informs policy, strengthens practice and empowers communities.
NHRF26 is a call for sustained action - to lead with purpose, partner with communities and amplify impact.

Please note, the Forum is an in-person event with a live stream component available which covers plenary sessions, for workshops and breakout sessions please register in person.
Pre-forum workshops
The Centre will host a range of pre-forum workshops on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 June 2025, at SAFECOM and the National Wine Centre, See below information on these workshops.
As some workshops run concurrently, please select only one workshop per overlapping time slot due to limited availability.

Forum registration FAQs
- Do Participants of the Centre need to register for the forum?
Yes. Although Participant registration is included as part of your organisations’ membership of the Centre, we need everyone attending or participating to register. If you are not sure if your organisation is a Participant of the Centre? Check this list of Participating organisations here. (Collaborating organisations are not considered a Participating organisation.)
- Is the Forum free for members of the Centre’s Participant organisations?
Yes. The cost for attending the Forum is included as part of your organisation’s membership of the Centre.
- How do I know if my organisation is a Participant of the Centre?
Check the list of Participants.
- Do researchers actively undertaking research with the Centre need to pay a fee?
No. The cost for attending is included as part of your research role. We will share more information with researchers in early 2026.
- Do the centre’s postgraduate research scholarship students need to register?
Yes. Students who are currently supported by the Centre need to register. The cost of attendance is included as part of your scholarship, so no further registration fee applies. We will share more information with postgraduate research scholarship students in early 2026.
- Can anyone attend NHRF26?
Yes. The Forum is open to the public. If you do not fall into any of the above categories, Forum registration is $800 to attend in-person (GST included, plus booking fees).
- Do I need to register for the live-stream sessions?
Yes. Registration is required; however, the live streamed plenary sessions are complimentary. If you are interested in participating in the workshops or research presentations, these are only available in person.
