Natural movement: Connecting with nature through movement
Event description
Our bodies evolved to interact with the natural landscape - to bend, swing, balance and respond to the unique challenges of the environment. By taking our movement practice into nature, we can explore the full range of our body’s natural patterns of movement. We become more agile, powerful, strong and balanced. You’ll be surprised at what your body is capable of.
This is a movement you can do anywhere - at home, in your local park or even right here at CERES. When exercise isn’t constrained to the gym, we become free to do it more regularly, creating a daily movement practice that supports fitness and long-term health.

About the Speaker
Damien Norris brings a unique blend of academic rigor and practical experience to the field of natural movement. With a PhD focused on human movement and human rewilding, he has dedicated the last decade to studying how movement shapes our connection to land, ourselves, and our environment.
His research has taken him across the globe, training with parkour and natural movement communities in Europe, North and South America, and India.
As a practitioner and researcher in human rewilding, Damien explores how modern humans can reconnect with their evolutionary movement heritage and thrive in an urban world. His approach combines insights from eco-philosophy, biology, and kinesthetics and more to create accessible ways for people to rediscover their natural movement potential.
