This family workshop is the perfect introduction to botanical drawing, painting and collage techniques.

Price: $35.00 per participant. $15 for each additional child.

Children must be accompanied by at least one paying adult.

Family Workshop (ages 7+)

After a short nature walk to gather your reference material, you’ll learn about the differences between water colours and inks and discover how to make your own pigments using naturally sourced materials. You will then create your own beautiful botanical artwork, using guided drawing, painting and collage.

Drawing

3 drawing activities to loosen up and practice 'really seeing' what you are looking at
Draw a selection of botanical objects - leaves, seedpods, blossoms, nuts etc

Painting

Introduction to watercolour techniques - wet on dry, wet on wet
Using paints and inks to add colour to drawings
Creating backgrounds - colour samples and mixing colours (while paintings dry)
Adding outlines

Collage

Cutting out drawn objects
Composition - arranging and gluing your artwork
