Event description

Natural Sequence Farming - Success with Trees, Plants and Food

  • Did you just buy land and want to know how to set it up sustainably?
  • Are you a tree grower who wants to restore and manage the hydrology and fertility of your property quickly and effectively?
  • Are you a seasoned farmer who wants to ditch chemicals and discover how to increase fertility naturally?
  • Do you already own land and want a science based management system that works like a dream?
  • Are you looking for land and wanting to find a great block for your dream farm?
  • Do you want to join a community of supportive, innovative farmers using strategies that build life on your property?

Join Adrian Drew, a key contributor, designer and practitioner from The Australian Landscape Science Institute (TALS) team, on a journey of down-to-earth discovery, clarity and inspiration as he walks you through his home farm. Adrian will show you what restoring the blueprint of our ancient Australian landscape can do for us in realising an abundant future for ourselves and future generations.

The farm demonstrates how you can easily harvest and manage water in your landscape, grow trees and nutrient dense, nourishing food with healthy plants and animals while building a highly efficient and productive landscape using earthworks and plants - powered by the sun.

We will take a closer look at which plants best manage water and promote daily water cycles as a way to manage climatic extremes as well as to build fertility. We will also walk through a 3 part farming system based on Natural Sequence Farming principles which are modelled on the practical, proven science within our landscape including forestry, bushfoods and grazing production areas and various fertility filtering mechanisms.
