Description

Welcome to Rauhitanga,

Come and slow down, reconnect and explore your creativity in a warm and intimate weekend weaving together nature, creativity, connection, heart, meditation and sound.

This is an opportunity to step away from the busyness of everyday life and give yourself space to listen, create, explore and simply be.

Throughout the weekend, we'll explore:

Nature art and creative expression
Raffia weaving and flax flower weaving
Qifield building and practice
Yi-Qi therapy
Heart meditation
Sound meditation
Nature connection and mindful exploration
Sharing, connection and a Saturday night fire

We'll spend time creating with our hands, connecting with nature, gathering inspiration and treasures from the surrounding area, and exploring what naturally draws our attention.

Each person will have the opportunity to create their own unique piece of nature art to take home, bringing together natural treasures, creative expression and the inspiration of their own journey through the weekend.

Throughout the weekend, we'll also be inspired by Kiri's beautiful creativity cards. Each participant will receive their own pack to take home at the end of the event, offering inspiration to continue exploring creativity beyond the weekend.

The weekend is about curiosity, play, slowing down and allowing creativity to emerge in your own way, rather than being 'good at art."

A small and intimate gathering

There are limited spaces, we are intentionally keeping this workshop small so there is plenty of space for connection, individual exploration and a supportive group atmosphere.

Food

Morning tea will be provided.

To help keep the weekend accessible and affordable, participants are welcome to bring and prepare their own lunches. On Saturday evening we'll come together for a potluck dinner around the fire.

There are limited accommodation options available on site:

King Suite — $100 per night
Shared room (3 beds) — $50 per night

Meet your Hosts

Kiri Waiata

Kiri's first love was music - a friend, confidante, muse and vehicle of expression of all that she felt she couldn't say any other way. A classically trained musician, she eventually ventured into playing in bands and singing in community choirs. The last of which became a 25 year long love affair culminating in publishing a songbook of original choral pieces for community choirs.

Covid lockdowns reignited the urge to make things and she has since spent many fulfilling hours dabbling in macrame, weaving, crochet, knitting, wood carving, print making and silversmithing. kiri believes we are all born of divine creative intelligence, the essence of which courses through our veins. We each have our own unique expression of this and it is not only confined to the realm of the arts. Every movement, gesture, thought and word is a radical act of creativity.

Kiri invites you to explore your particular creative flow through sound, weaving, Yuan Qigong, and her 'What if?' prompts for creatives, a 52 card deck designed for reflection and inspiration.

Nicole Sharp

Nicole has been exploring creativity since childhood, leading her to complete a practical art and design certificate in 2005 and explore many different creative mediums along the way. She believes that art, music, poetry and all forms of creative expression can be pathways into deeper connection, helping us listen to our inner wisdom and allow something greater than ourselves to move through us.

Nicole's work is guided by a deep love for people, nature and the journey of coming home to our true selves. She creates spaces where people can slow down, explore, grow and reconnect with themselves, each other and the natural world.

She shares this work through Yuan Qigong, Ren Xue teachings, Yuan Ming and Hakomi, bringing together creativity, awareness and heart to support people in discovering their own inner wisdom and unique way of being.
