Nature Drawing Workshop 13th September
Event description
Inspired by the Castlemaine Art Museum founding women’s interest in art and local wildflowers this workshop is a chance to learn about and draw local plants. With guidance from Traditional Owner, artist and cultural educator Aunty Kerri Douglas, drawing guide Honor Bradbeer and artist Laura Woodward, you will learn about local flora and Djaara culture while drawing flowers and plants at different sites in the Castlemaine Botanical Gardens. Spend time in nature, slow down and enjoy close observation, listening, drawing and conversation. Open to adults of all ages and all levels of ability.
What to Bring: All drawing materials will be provided. This 2 hour workshop will include about 1km of movement between sites, on garden paths and grass. Please bring a water bottle and wear comfortable weather-appropriate clothing and shoes. Please contact us regarding accessibility requirements at arts@mountalexander.vic.gov.au.
