Event description

*NEW VENUE LOCATION - ECOCLASSROOM SANCTUARY IN MCLAREN VALE*

Come and try nature journaling, a mindful practice that switches on your intentional curiosity, encourages your creativity and reconnects you with nature.

This workshop will cover all the different elements of Eucalypts- leaves, flowers, gumnuts, seed, bark and hollows. As each element is explored we will creatively journal them, learn about which animals call a gum-tree home and come to understand why they are so important in our landscape.

Upon arrival you'll be seated amongst Eucalyptus flowers, foliage, and seed-pods. You'll receive a stitch-bound sketch book for you to journal in (and take home!) and have access to various drawing materials and watercolour paints. A wholesome lunch and herbal tea will also be provided. These workshops are always a relaxing, educational and enriching experience; the perfect way to spend the day for any nature lover!

Hannah will be your host, guiding you through how to creatively record what you observe and teaching you all about the ecology of Eucalypts. Hannah is a creative and self confessed nature nerd with 10+ years experience in conservation and environmental management. Her obsession and passion for native plants is evident in everything she does; inspiring people to fall in love with their local environment is at the heart of her business.

At this workshop you will:

  • Be treated to a wholesome lunch and herbal tea
  • Receive a beautiful stitch-bound sketchbook for you to take home
  • Learn about the local Eucalypt species of our region and the relationships they have with other species
  • Learn how to nature journal and experience the many benefits it offers
  • Receive drawing/ journaling tips, tricks and encouragement
  • Leave feeling inspired, restored and deeply connected to nature

When: 10am-1pm, Sunday 15th October, 2023

Where: EcoClassroom Sanctuary, McLaren Vale / Kaurna Country, SA

Cost: $120 per person (price includes lunch, herbal tea, sketchbook, use of drawing/ painting materials)

Testimonial: “I went to the nature journaling workshop and loved it so much, the only downside was that we had to finish! Hannah shared so much knowledge which inspired me to learn more about native plants.” -Meg, Seacliff.

I acknowledge the land on which I live, play and work upon is Kaurna Yarta, belonging to the Kaurna People. I acknowledge the deep and ancient relationships that Kaurna People have with their land, waters and sky and pay my respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
