Event description

Buds to blooms - nature journaling in Kings Park

Join us for a morning of nature journaling in Kings Park! After an introduction to nature journaling and warming up with some exercises we'll go for a bushland walk and then practice our nature journaling skills by the botanic garden. All materials will be provided.

About your nature journaling host, Kim Lapere

Kim studied chemistry (PhD 2015 UWA) and was a lecturer for 6 years in NSW. She developed her teaching skills there as an education-focussed academic, and has a graduate certificate in tertiary education. Kim discovered nature journaling during the pandemic and loved exploring her environment through her nature journal. She decided to combine her passion for nature and art with her expertise in teaching and science to shift into becoming a nature journaling educator. In 2021 Kim started a YouTube channel and website to share her nature journaling adventures from an Australian perspective and launched the Perth Nature Journal Club. In 2023 Kim joined the WA Gould League at the Herdsman Lake Discovery Centre, teaching nature journaling workshops and educating school groups and the general public.
