Nature Journaling with Nancy Seiler: Event Mapping (Waitlist Only)

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Date: Friday, August 25
Time: 9:00 a.m. – noon
Location: Meet at the Greenough Park Picnic Shelter

Event mapping is about close observation of a place by walking slowly and taking notes and drawing simple “cartoons” of what you see. Artist Nancy Seiler will guide you through this reflective, artistic practice. Begin by using a Micron pen and journal only. Once finished, sit down with field guides and watercolors to add information and color to your journal. Your observations and notes on color, texture, and form will enrich your art and allow you to more easily access information in the field guides. Plants, insects, tracks, birds, and more will fill the pages of your journal.

Instructor Nancy Seiler has been teaching botanical illustration, nature journaling since 2003. She has been a GOLDEN Working Artist for GOLDEN Artist Colors since 2015, teaching people how to use acrylics and watercolors. Her fine art is represented by FOR Fine Art in Whitefish and Bigfork, and by 709 Gallery in Montana Art and Framing in Missoula. Visit her website at www.nancyseiler.com.
