Event description

Nature play and risky play are deeply interconnected because natural spaces for play provide an environment that encourages risk-taking, exploration and discovery. In play spaces with nature and bush kindy excursions there are endless opportunities for children to experiment, challenge themselves and build confidence in ways that structured indoor play spaces cannot.

We will discuss the underlying theories of nature play and risky play
We will explore how these two concepts are naturally intertwined and support the holistic development and wellbeing of young children.
We will explore how to support children's dynamic risk assessment skills
We will share how to manage safety in nature play in early learning settings
We will share insights of nature play in action

- Don’t forget to bring a pen and highlighter, we will provide you with printed handouts.

The course is delivered by experienced, qualified trainers with extensive knowledge and expertise in Nature play and Bush Kindy programs across Queensland and beyond. Our facilitators still work in the field and share hands on experience as well of services that we partner with.

Evening refreshments are provided

INVITATION - we invite anyone wishing to join a dinner prior to the session to come along at 5.30 to the Brothers Leagues Club and order a meal (paid by participants seperately) and we will have a table reserved. More info to follow once you book a ticket.

BOOKING: Tickets are limited to one at a time to ensure that PARTICIPANTS complete the registration, as there is personal questions relating to medical and professional knowledge. At the end, they can click - Pay by Credit Card, Pay by Invoice - and the invoice will be sent to the Centre.

Refund policy

Workshop numbers are kept small to maximise quality and positive experiences. There is a maximum and minimum number of participants per workshop. Book early to secure your place. If the minimum number of participants is not achieved within 1 week of the workshop date, the workshop may be cancelled. Cancellations by workshop attendees: Cancellations made 2 or more weeks prior to a booked workshop date will receive a full refund, less Humanitix Service Fee (4% + A$0.99 per ticket ex GST), this includes transferring to another workshop date. Cancellations made less than 2 weeks of a booked workshop date will receive a refund, less Bush Kindy Australia Admin fee and Humanitix Service Fee (4% + A$0.99 per ticket ex GST), this includes transferring to another workshop date. Changes made less than 2 weeks of a booked Bush Kindy Leader workshop date will incur a $25 Admin fee as catering, printing, venue booking etc all need amendments with a ticket name change. Cancellations made less than 1 week of a booked workshop date will not receive a refund, this includes transferring to another workshop date. Each case will be considered on individual merit and evidence. Please submit requests to hello@bushkindyaustralia.com.au Where possible, every effort is made to fill spots with an attendee on the workshop wait lists. If this is possible, Bush Kindy Australia may then refund your workshop fee or keep your workshop fee in credit for up to 12 months so you can attend a future workshop. Cancellations by Bush Kindy Australia A workshop may be cancelled by Bush Kindy Australia due to insufficient student numbers or unforeseen circumstances (e.g., illness or global pandemic*). In this event, you will be offered a full refund or option to reschedule. *In the event that government restrictions force the cancellation or postponement of workshops, attendees will be offered the option of a refund, or their fees held in credit for when workshops are able to resume again.
