Nature Play Consultation Workshops

Event description

For more than a decade, Centennial Parklands has been a leader in nature play. Nature pedagogy is holistic experiential learning in nature, which offers children self-directed learning experiences, building foundational skills. A key component of nature pedagogy is the outdoor environment and opportunities which allow children to take risks, solve problems and collaborate.

Greater Sydney Parklands seeks to grow nature discovery in Centennial Parklands. To inform our planning we are conducting focus-group style workshops. We are seeking educators and nature play advocates to be part of a 2-stage workshop.

Please note the information shared in the workshop is confidential to participants.

We are looking for 20 participants at each workshop

  • Educators/Nature Play Educators - Tuesday 2 July, 2pm to 4pm
  • Parents/Carers Workshop* - Wednesday 3 July, 10am to 12pm
  • Children/Students Workshop (children 5 years+) - Wednesday 3 July, 3pm to 5pm

*Children 5 years and over can join our educators for a fun morning whilst parents/carers participate in the workshop.

Workshops will be held in the Outdoor Classroom, outside the Wild Play Discovery Centre. Light refreshments will be provided.
