    Event description

For more than a decade, Centennial Parklands has been a leader in nature play, also known as nature pedagogy. Nature pedagogy is holistic experiential learning in nature, which offers children self-directed learning experiences, building foundational skills. A key component is the outdoor environment and opportunities which allow children to take risks, solve problems and collaborate.

Greater Sydney Parklands seeks to grow nature discovery in Centennial Parklands. To inform our planning we are conducting fun and interactive combined workshop with parents/carers and their children (aged 5 to 12 years) on Wednesday 14 August 3.30pm to 5.30pm.

Afternoon tea will be provided. As a thank you, participants will receive a $50 voucher towards Centennial Parklands’ nature play programs, including Bush School and school holiday events.

The workshops will be held in both the outside and indoor classrooms (near the WILD PLAY garden) as we explore what does and doesn’t work well in our existing facilities.

    Important information:

    • The information shared in the workshop is confidential to participants.
    • Facilitated by Natalia Krysiak of Cities for Play and Dr Amanda Lloyd from Greater Sydney Parklands.
    • Children need to be supervised at all times.

    • In the event of rain, the workshops will be held in the indoor classroom and adjacent undercover shelter area.
