Nature in the Garden Talk in Mandarin
Description
Join us at Rhodes as the sun sets over the Parramatta River for a Nature Talk conducted by Leicia Peterson, delivered in Mandarin language.
Leicia will go through native plants commonly found in home gardens, local wildlife such as birds, possums and bush turkeys and practical ways we can live alongside them. Leicia will combine her own photography and ecology with stories of First Nations traditions and Australian History.
The talk will begin at 6:30pm, with refreshments served from 6:15pm
About Leicia Peterson
Leicia Petersen is a Chinese Australian writer, photographer and science communicator with a focus on Australia's native plants, wildlife and natural environments. She holds an MSc in Environmental Science from the University of Sydney and an MA in Chinese Literature from Sichuan University, combining science and storytelling in her work. Her photographs have been exhibited in Australia, China, Japan and Germany, and her educational videos have attracted more than 200,000 followers across Chinese-language social media platforms.
