Nature Walk Kundip - Lee Creek Take a guided walking tour with Andrew Chapman our local Zoologist and president of the Ravensthorpe Historical Society. This Nature Walk will take you along a 10km section of the Railway Heritage Trail depicting flora, fauna, and scenery. You will discover some interesting plant species and possibly find one of the latest named Eucalypts. eucalyptus merlei, named after Merle Bennett in recognition of her dedication to collecting and preserving the flora of this region. Merle was also the first person to collect the specimens for the Ravensthorpe Regional Herbarium and hence the state Herbarium

Walking this historic railway track takes you back to a time when people would move around the country set up camps and towns and go about making the best of life when times may have been tough.

Don't Forget: To bring a notebook, camera and an enquiring mind.

Meet the bus at the Ravensthorpe Town Hall @ 8:45 a.m. You will be bused to the starting point.

This is categorised as a Grade 3 walk, includes walking on old railway tracks in some places, the walk is approximately 3-4 hours.

If you wish to drive to the old Kundip Townsite and join the group please indicate when you book. You will be bussed back to your car at Kundip at the end of the walk. Or you may wish to dropped at Kundip and picked up at Lee Creek.

What to Bring: Water, snacks, camera, binoculars, sunscreen, and, insect repellant.

Bee Aware: If you have an allergy to bees make sure you have antihistamines and/or an epipen Please advise the leader of your allergy and location of the epipen?

Wear: Ankle supporting closed in walking shoes, suitable clothing for bush walking and all weather events.
