Nature's Art Gallery: Explore and Draw Shepherds Hill Recreation Park

Join the Friends of Shepherds Hill Recreation Park on Sunday the 24th of May for a morning of Family activities, drawing in nature, and a supplied lunch!

Take part in a guided drawing course with Ann Prescott, finding inspiration in the sound and sights of the surrounding bush. Ann has extensive experience working with and studying the flora of South Australia and is well known for her publication It's Blue with Five Petals.

Explore this popular park on a family walk and discover not only the beautiful vulnerable Grey Box grassy woodland habitat which covers the region, but also the Grasses project led by the Friends of Shepherds Hill Recreation Park.

There will be lots of fun for children available too including a treasure hunt and colouring competition. BBQ lunch will be provided following the activities.

The volunteer group, Friends of Shepherds Hill, was formed in 1999 to conduct important conservation work within the Shepherd Hill Recreation Park. The group supports park management by removing weeds such as olives, broom and boneseed and by revegetating areas with native species grown from locally collected seed.

WHAT TO BRING

All drawing needs including paper and pencils will be provided.

Please check ahead for the weather and dress accordingly. Things to bring include:

• Enclosed footwear

• A chair

• Sun protection

• Drinking water

• Weather appropriate clothes

• Personal medication

• Snacks

• This event may be cancelled in the event of severe/wet weather or declared 'Catastrophic' Fire Danger in the Mount Lofty Ranges Fire Ban District.
