NAVARATRI VICTORY DAY - A TIME FOR CELEBRATION & COMMUNITY!

Navaratri has been celebrated annually for centuries in India. This festival spans 9 days to help transform, nourish and cultivate the life-affirming qualities within ourselves, which include courage, love and creativity.

This year’s event coincides with the 10th day, the 'vijaya' (victory) day after the 9 days of transformation, where it is tradition to give thanks to the Divine Mother for all She has graced us with havan, kirtan and feasting!

For us, it is a reminder to embrace ourselves and each other just as we are, and to celebrate how far we have come on our journey from ‘darkness to light.’ This is applicable to all, at any stage of our lives, and whether Navaratri is significant to us or not.

ABOUT HAVAN

Havan is an ancient Vedic Yogic ceremony, created as a way of giving back to the earth and to bring health and harmony to humans, nature and all beings. Through the offering of transformative mantras infused with intentions and the offering of flowers our collective prayers become potent and healing.

Havan is a feast for the senses, which celebrates the beauty and sacredness of all life. There will be a beautiful altar creation to help anchor in our intentions. The practice can help you enter a deep state of meditation, and brings powerful self and collective transformation and deep soul nourishment. No prior experience is needed. There is a main mantra chanted 108 times which everyone will be able to pick up and learn on their first time to havan.

ABOUT KIRTAN

Kirtan is your personal connection to the divine through your unique voice and heart, carried by the collective energy of the group and music. It’s a very accessible group singing yoga practice, combining potent Sanskrit vibrational sounds called mantra with call and response melody and rhythm to help bring us into a relaxed, balanced and expansive state of being. No prior experience is needed to take part – all are welcome!

Geeti & Gyan’s open-hearted and inclusive facilitation enables people to relax, let go and open to uninhibited expression, deep nourishment and peace.

The fruits of the practices are dedicated to the health and wellbeing of all beings and Mother Earth.
