This training is useful for:

Experienced and less experienced professionals working with survivors of trafficking or Modern Slavery
Those working within and those working outside of the MSVCC
Those working at or with migrant or survivor led groups.

This session will cover:

How evidence can help when a survivor is unable to or has difficulty disclosing their experience
Different types of evidence and how they can assist in a survivor's legal case and how it is funded under legal aid
What to do if you are asked to provide a supporting letter or statement but feel unsure what you should write or whether this is within remit
What to do in cases where not enough evidence is put forward by the legal representative, or the trafficking case is simply treated as a side issue and how you can advocate for the survivor in these cases
Guidance on how legal and support professionals can work collaboratively to obtain the best outcomes for clients

The content for this session will cover legislation and case law from England and Wales as well as some international sources of law. It will have a strong focus on the Modern Slavery: statutory guidance for England and Wales (under s49 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015) and non-statutory guidance for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The session is for 2 hours with an optional 30 minutes Q&A at the end.
