Navigating My Way Launch
Event description
After more than two years of work, VMIAC is proud to launch our latest project, Navigating My Way and we wish to celebrate this milestone with you.
The resources created will equip participants and service providers with the skills, confidence and knowledge they need to self-advocate and engage with the NDIS in a safe and meaningful way, and take the form of how-to guides, graphic illustrations, and videos.
We will formally launch Navigating My Way at Brunswick Town Hall on Wurundjeri-Woi wurrung Country. Learn more about the project - how it came to be, and what it means to those who helped create it.
As we honour those who made this possible, enjoy music from lived experience champion and fellow consumer Eliza Hull, and light refreshments provided by our friends at Asylum Seeker Resource Centre catering.
Getting there
Brunswick Town Hall is convenient to tram number 19. Stop #21 is directly outside the venue on Sydney Rd. The 506 bus stop is on Sydney Rd/Glenlyon Rd and is 65m away. The venue is about 500m north from Jewell Station on the Upfield train line. Off street paid parking is available about 350m away on Dawson St, just in front of the railway crossing on the left. If you require them, VMIAC can organise Cab Charge vouchers for you. To book a Cab Charge voucher, email membership@vmiac.org.au.
Accessibility
The venue has DDA compliant toilets and ramp access. If you require the services of an Auslan interpreter, we ask that you confirm with us when registering or by emailing membership@vmiac.org.au.
Support
VMIAC staff trained in peer support will be present during the event if for any reason you need some extra support. There will also be a designated break-out space with sensory items.
