PREPARING FOR THE AUDI CENTRE SYDNEY BLUE WATER POINTSCORE SERIES - Navigation Masterclass with Will Oxley

Leading ocean navigator Will Oxley will be conducting a very special Navigation Masterclass at the CYCA this coming Saturday 27 March from 9am to 12pm.
The session will cover how best to prepare for the upcoming Blue Water Pointscore Series with a few navigation tips and pitfalls to watch out for thrown in.
Participants will need to bring their own laptops with an up-to-date version of Expedition.
$180 for CYCA Members / $200 for non-members
The course will be limited to 20 people.
About Will Oxley
Ocean Navigator of the Year – 2010, 2018 & 2019
World-acclaimed ocean racer and navigator on the Audi Centre Sydney Blue Water Pointscore winning Ichi Ban, Will Oxley has a background in marine biology and over 260,000 nautical miles of ocean racing experience under his belt. These include five round the world races and 19 Sydney to Hobart races.
Will skippered 'Compaq' in the BT Global Challenge 2000/01 and he was also the weather coordinator for the Swedish Victory Challenge America’s Cup Team. He provided navigation and weather support for Puma in the 2008/09 Volvo Ocean Race. For the 2011–12 Volvo Ocean Race he was navigator aboard Camper (Emirates Team New Zealand). Will was the navigator for Team Alvimedica in the 2014-15 Volvo Ocean Race.
Will has had enjoyed wins in the Rolex Giraglia Race, Rolex Fastnet Race and
Rolex Sydney Hobart on three separate yachts. He also won the Carribean 600
Overall onboard Volvo 70 WIZARD, whose crew was named World Sailing’s
'Team of the Year'.
Fellow Ichi Ban crew members have stated that his scientific approach has led to improvements in the boat’s performance at every level with his weather and navigation skills continuing to improve every year. He has become one of the leading lights in international yacht racing.
