Architecture + Women NZ and NAWIC NZ warmly invite you to a special evening of film, conversation, and connection with Resene Architecture & Design Film Festival 2025.

Enjoy a screening of E.1027: Eileen Gray and A House by the Sea, preceded by Her Blueprint, Aotearoa, a short film by Miriama Toms that offers a snapshot of the everyday professional lives of women in Aotearoa’s design and construction sectors.

Following the screenings, join us for a thought-provoking Q&A with special guests as we explore the themes of the films and open up kōrero around visibility, representation, and the ongoing normalisation of women’s presence and leadership in our industries.

Date/Time: Thursday 22 May, 5:30pm (Film starts at 5:45pm sharp)

Location: Lighthouse Cinema, 29 Wigan Street, Te Aro, Wellington.

Ticket price includes admission to the films, Q&A session and a glass of wine or beverage of your choice at the screening. - NOTE THIS PRICE IS AVAILABLE TO NAWIC & Architecture + Women NZ members only as we are subsidizing costs for drinks.

About the films:

E.1027: Eileen Gray explores the life and legacy of pioneering architect and designer Eileen Gray. Her modernist villa on the Côte d’Azur, E.1027, is recognised as a landmark in architectural history. The film reflects on the strength of her creative vision and the challenges she faced in a male-dominated field.

Her Blueprint, Aotearoa is a local short film that highlights the work, presence, and impact of some of the key women shaping the design and construction landscape in Aotearoa.

Womens Refuge:

We would love to take this opportunity to provide some much needed support to the Wellington Women's Refuge, who provide fantastic care in our community to those who need it most.

On the night we will be very gratefully accepting optional donations of essential items as listed below, and delivering them with care from A+W and NAWIC.

body wash, shampoos, conditioners
moisturisers, sunscreens

(all new/unopened, for hygiene purposes).
