The new building, due for completion in mid-2023, will be a fit-for-future learning and research facility located within a bio-diverse park-like environment.

The new science facilities within the 9,450m2 three level building will comprise:

Modern, well-lit, climate-controlled learning areas, office workspace and collaboration spaces designed to suit the needs of students, staff, postgraduate researchers and our industry partners
State-of-the-art research laboratories and equipment
Contemporary teaching spaces
Adjustable meeting and conference zones
Multi-use social spaces
Café and heat-and-eat area
Purpose-built areas for specialist research activities.

In line with the University’s sustainable infrastructure goals, the new building will have minimal environmental impact, featuring roof- and wall-mounted solar arrays, a ground-sourced heating/cooling system and a rainwater-fed toilet flushing system.

Construction is being undertaken by Leighs Construction Limited, with Project Management by The Building Intelligence Group (TBIG). Leighs and TBIG also completed the Science South Building for the University in July 2021.

SITE TOUR: After a brief site induction the tour through the site will be led by Simon (Project Manager from Leighs Construction), lasting approx. 45-50minutes.

DATE & TIME: Tuesday, 28th March 2023, 5pm-6.30pm

VENUE: Leighs Construction Site, Lincoln University, Springs Road. Carparking available in Springs Road Car Park (map will be provided).

COST: FREE to NAWIC members, this event is limited to 30 people so please book your space consciously.

BRING: PPE including hard hat, hi-vis reflective vest or shirt, safety boots or good covered in shoes.
