Learn more about your local biodiversity, bushfire risk, fire management, and how to protect your home from fire.
In this workshop:
• Hear from the NSW Rural Fire Service, Friends of the North Ridge Reserve, Fire and Rescue NSW, Nature Conservation Council of NSW and others...
• Inspect nearby bushland in North Ridge Reserve to discuss fire ecology, fire behaviour and risk.
• Have an opportunity to ask questions related to your local area and how to prepare your property.
• Assess local residences and talk about how to better protect your home from bushfire.
• Meet and re-connect with neighboursÂ

Where:
Please meet at the Scout Hall - 9 Babin Place, Cooma, 2630.
The day will also include some walking, so please wear comfortable enclosed walking shoes.Â

Who should attend:
Residents next to Cooma North Ridge Reserve and beyond are invited to participate - particularly those who have a bush boundary - but all Cooma community and residents are welcome.Â
Cost:
Registrations are free and includes morning tea and lunch. Places are limited so claim your spot early, registrations close 3rd April. Please register above.Â
What to bring:
Please ensure you are wearing enclosed comfortable walking shoes, sun protection and have a water bottle and wet weather gear if needed.Â
You do not need to bring a ticket, there will be a registration desk with your name at the venue.Â
If you are feeling unwell, or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive to COVID-19, please do not attend this in-person event.
