Description
Navigating disability funding and maintaining compliant NCCD records in Independent Schools in Western Australia can be complex and high-stakes. Now that you’ve made it through most of 2026, this one-day workshop will help you set up for a more efficient and less stressful approach next year. Participants will build a clear understanding of what disability funding is (and isn’t), what is available in the WA Independent sector, and the roles and responsibilities of school staff.
The day is informed by key legal obligations, including the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and the Disability Standards for Education 2005, and will focus on what schools need to demonstrate in a NCCD review or audit, with time for attendees to participate in moderation activities. With a strong practical focus, participants will explore how to prepare throughout the year, strengthen documentation, reduce workload for staff and pressure at submission time, and provide an opportunity to network with others in similar roles.
NCCD Guidelines have been updated for 2026 and beyond, and schools need to be aware of the latest requirements.

- Who is presenting?
Rebecca Rourke is an experienced leader in Inclusive Education and Learning Support, with
a strong focus on compliance, funding, and whole-school practice. She has held inaugural
Head of Learning Diversity roles (K–12) at Methodist Ladies’ College and St Mark’s Anglican
Community School, where she led the development of inclusive frameworks across both
settings.
Rebecca brings extensive experience in aligning school processes with the requirements of
the Disability Discrimination Act, the Disability Standards for Education, and the Nationally
Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD). She has worked closely with leadership teams to
design and implement robust, evidence-based systems that support accurate data collection,
informed adjustments, and successful funding outcomes at both state and federal levels.
She has successfully led schools through post-enumeration reviews and external audits,
most recently in 2025, and is committed to ensuring that compliance processes are both
rigorous and meaningful for student outcomes.
With a background spanning classroom teaching, Learning Support, and specialist education
settings, Rebecca offers practical, real-world insight into supporting diverse learners and
embedding sustainable, school-wide inclusive practices.
