Join NCIFT and SJSU's Nutrition and Food Science Club as we learn about the science behind honey made without bees with Dr. Katie Uhl from MeliBio!

Dr. Katie Uhl is a Food Scientist at MeliBio which is bringing animal-free honey to the market. She works on product formulation, supply chain and regulation, as well as scaling up production in order to develop a more sustainable product for all pollinators. Katie earned her PhD in Food Science from UC Davis in 2022 where her research focused on characterizing the fruit and flower of the California-native blue elderberry.
