The Fair Work Commission has announced significant changes with its 1 June 2026 decision on the Social, Community, Health and Disability (SCHADS) award.

The new SCHADS award will come into effect from 1 October, 2027.

Preparing for the transition will involve learning about the new award, translating current staff roles into the new classification; and campaigning for resources for the implementation and any variation on wages.

The session will cover:

An overview on the new Award classification structure
Transition and implementation considerations
Key things organisations should focus on now
An update from the ASU

There will be an opportunity to add your questions and input on how the sector can prepare for the change, including support mechanisms.
