NDIS Changes: How You Can Use Your Funding to Support Your Child’s Development
Description
Join this practical workshop to better understand the latest proposed NDIS changes and how they could impact your child’s funding and supports.
Designed for families, carers, and support coordinators of children with disability, this session will explain what the changes mean in simple terms and how to use your NDIS plan effectively. You’ll learn how funding decisions are shifting toward real-life outcomes, and how to apply this to your child’s supports.
We’ll explore how to use funding for:
Aquatic therapy (Flipper Academy)
Dietetics and nutrition (Altaira Allied Health)
Importantly, we’ll explain why these supports matter. Aquatic therapy helps build strength, coordination, confidence, and water safety, while nutrition ensures your child has the energy, hydration, and nourishment needed to fully participate and progress. For many children, especially those with sensory challenges, getting the right nutrition can be difficult, which can impact their ability to engage in therapy. You’ll learn how these supports work best together to benefit your child.
This session is facilitated by Physiotherapist and Director of Flipper Academy Chelsea Marchetti and Altaira Allied Health's Accredited Practicing Dietitian Caitlin Mc Manus, bringing expert insights from both therapy and nutrition perspectives.
