Event description

“We've stuffed up a lot of really good grapes,” say Naomi and Ben Gould, the husband-and-wife team behind Margaret River’s Blind Corner. “We’ve also made some good wine. Occasionally some great wine. And some really, really bad wine. But it’s always been honest wine.”

After releasing their first wines in 2009, the Goulds have been constantly fine-tuning their winemaking approach, all with the aim of being as honest as possible. Today, they live, work and play on a biodynamically-farmed property in Quindalup where they tend vines, plant trees, grow their own food and slowly regenerate their estate. In short, they take their role as stewards of the land seriously. And it shows in their wines, a thrilling assortment that combines traditional techniques with new-school thinking.

We’re pumped that Naomi and Ben are coming to Northbridge hi-fi listening bar Astral Weeks for the August edition of Near Mint to share their wines with us. As part of the event, the Goulds will host an intimate hour-long tasting with 12 guests featuring new and old wines alongside commentary from the couple.

Once the tasting finishes, you're invited to grab a table and stay and enjoy the rest of the event. Other new and museum-release Blind Corner wines will be available by the glass and by the bottle from the bar. Staying on the Margaret River theme, Corey and Imogen from curry canteen Dahl Daddys will be bringing their bold Southern Asian cooking up to Perth, while the night will be soundtracked by south-west crate digger Rua Te Weehi and Max Veenhuyzen.
