Have you ever experienced an event where harm nearly occurred, a mistake was almost made? Was action taken to prevent it in the future, or the next time did the person get hurt or die?

Too often serious incidents happen, but a near miss occurred before it, and an opportunity to prevent harm was missed.

This course will show you what near misses are and walk you through the benefits of reporting them to reduce harm to the person receiving services, staff and organisations and create a culture of continuous improvement.

Value the importance of reporting near misses and know how it successfully reduces risk and improve safety
Know what a near miss is and why are people reluctant to report them
Gain case study experience in identify near miss and strategies which could be put in place to prevent them

Presented by:

Donny Raets - Training Development and Delivery. With decades of experience as an educator across primary, tertiary, and the corporate sectors, Donny has highly developed skills in how best to facilitate sessions that deliver exceptional learning outcomes. Her role in PHI has developed her ability to break down the overwhelming into manageable, orderly pieces and to utilise those skills in the management of incidents; how to identify, report, investigate, and most importantly, how to prevent or reduce the likelihood of recurrence.
