Nebular Noise
Event description
Nebular Noise is a night where raw sound collides at Dissent. Get ready for an electrifying lineup featuring the raw energy of Kilroy, the genre-bending grooves of Suede Effect, the psychedelic force of Pilot Buffalo and the soaring riffs of Nuta Mantis. A stellar evening of live music not to be missed—loud, atmospheric, and unforgettable.
Stalwarts of the Canberra scene, Kilroy combine guitars that sing, keen and snarl, thunderous rhythms and dry lyricism into a driving post-punk sound that tempers clear-eyed aggression with a dose of new-wave romanticism. Kilroy released their first EP Good As Gold in 2020 and followed it up with the single Talk and Churn in 2021. Keep an eye out for their sophomore EP coming later this year.
Tearaway Darkinjung/Central Coast band Suede Effect is here to apply 2-3 generous coats of noise to your eardrums. After throwing psych, punk, indie and surf influences into the mixer they’re ready to spread it on thick at a venue near you!
Pilot Buffalo are a fun, enthusiastic band sprouting from their cocoon on Darkinjung Land. They share interests of acidic fruits and Lepidoptera and incorporate these in their diverse music genres including indie rock, hard rock, psychedelic rock, surf rock. Unfortunately they are not pilots or buffalo, but definitely act like it on stage. Jumping, spinning, head banging, moving a guitar around like a snake trying to bite its captor; the band exude high energy and charisma.
NUTA MANTIS are an exciting passionate group exploring the sonic boundaries of loud expressive grungy rock
