Neighbourhood Noise BMF X Next Wave: Gulan

Multidisciplinary artist Leon Rodgers brings playful audiovisual territory to Next Wave for Brunswick Music Festival.

An audio/visual sound bath guided by Gulan – meaning microbat in Gathang – exploring the cave systems of eastern Australia. Combining experimental composition and innovative sound design to create a dynamic, immersive environment.

Leon Rodgers is a composer and Worimi descendant, blending music, technology and First Nations storytelling. Having composed for Bangarra Dance Theatre, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Vivid Sydney, Leon debuts his first solo installation, also featuring touch designer collaborator Jordan East.

Please arrive 5–10 minutes before your session start time so you can check in, grab a drink and get settled. Due to the immersive nature of this performance, latecomers can only be admitted within 10 minutes of the session start time.

This is an immersive installation and sessions run in a dark environment. Audio and visual may cause disorientation and attendees should take care while participating.

There will be a mixture of floor and standard seating. We encourage you make yourself comfortable on the floor if you can – cushions and beanbags will be available.
