Event description

The annual inclusive Neighbourhood Summit 2024 invites neighbourhood groups, members, champions, and individuals with lived experience together to share and celebrate stories of neighbourhood connection, approaches to improve accessibility and inclusivity, as well as opportunities for individuals to network with one another!

The day will begin with a Welcome to Country and an Open from the Honourable Minister Nat Cooke, Minister of Social Services. We will launch a few exciting new resources, before engaging in two very riveting neighbourhood champion panel sessions that will help you to think about the 'why' and 'how' behind building inclusive neighbourhoods. We will witness a lovely a showcase from Vocalize choir before hearing from representatives from Children and Young People with Disability Australia. The afternoon finishes with a fanastic talk from bestselling author and social psychologist Hugh Mackay, AO on 'Why Neighbours Matter'.The tentative agenda for the day can be found below!

This is a free event being hosted in the Members Dining Hall at the Adelaide Showground! Morning tea and lunch will be provided on the day.

This venue is wheelchair accessible and has wheelchair accessible bathrooms. Please let us know if you require other support needs to be accommodated on the day.

Accessible and paid parking is available on site. Parking fees will be covered for eligible participants upon request. Please indicate in your registration if you would like to have your parking covered or email sarah.faulkner@clp-sa.org.au.

There are limited spaces available so we will prioritise registrations from neighbourhood volunteers, group members, individuals who identify as living with a disability or mental illness- their family members, friends, support workers, and advocates.

If you cannot make it to this event, we would appreciate you letting us know as soon as you can so that the opportunity can be provided others.

The finalised agenda will be sent to all registrants and interested parties in the coming months.
