Nelson Tasman Climate Forum October hui
Event description
We meet face-to-face for the third time in October, and it's going to be a big one.
We have an exciting range of activities planned for the day, and we can't wait to share them with you all. The Agenda for the October Hui is available here.
In the morning, we'll be discussing the strategic action plans from the following groups and helping them answer their outstanding questions. The draft plans are linked below and we encourage you to read them ahead of the hui:
Local economy and business
Urban development: Buildings and cities
Energy: overview and detail
Land Use, Farming and Forestry
Food
Resources and Waste
Transport
In the afternoon, we're going to stop talking and start acting! There are range of actions for you to choose from, including tree planting, collaborative climate art, and a biodiversity walk. For those not still tree planting, the second half of the afternoon will offer a range of discussions, including discussing the Nelson Plan and flood maps, contributing to a virtual simulation of Nelson in a changing climate, and a helpdesk for using our new interactive website.
There will also be time for topics raised by you, our community. Suggestions of topics are welcome to community@nelsontasmanclimateforum.org.
