NEMO Beach Clean Up

Holy mackerel! Is it that time of year again? Your favourite University of Melbourne affiliated environmental clubs are here to host our semesterly beach clean up! Run by Networking for Ecological and Marine Opportunities (NEMO), we are lucky enough to be joined by SMART Consumers, Oxfam Group, Greens Club, and Post-graduate Environment Network (PEN) for a day of being of service to our environment. And we are absolutely swimming with excitement!

With anxieties surrounding the climate crisis being high, it is imperative for a community like ours to care about reducing our consumption and removing imperishable items from the beach. No trout about it! Hope to sea you all there! And if you think of any better fish puns, just let minnow 🐟

We ask that you come with the following items:

• re-usable gloves e.g. kitchen gloves, gardening gloves

• plastic / compostable bags

• buckets - for putting heavier rubbish items in!

• appropriate attire for weather e.g. hat, rain jacket, scarf etc.

• sunscreen

• close-toed shoes

• tongs or rubbish pick up tool (optional)

The committees will also provide extra gloves, bags, and buckets, but these are limited!
