Stephanie Kilpatrick from VicHealth will discuss a new report that examines how your postcode predicts your health and life expectancy. Fifty percent of Australians now live with chronic disease. Many of these diseases are preventable - and it starts with planning laws, zoning laws and the environments we live in. Victoria needs Government policymakers to take action and create healthier environments to reduce chronic disease and provide fair and accessible infrastructure that promotes the health and wellbeing of all Victorians, regardless of their postcode, bank balance or background.

Min Seto from the Australian Social Value Bank (ASVB) will share how health is a critical component of a wellbeing economy; when people are healthy they can contribute to society, participate in their communities and pursue their goals and interests. How can we use Wellbeing Valuation to understand the value of health interventions when faced with the difficult task of allocating scarce resources across a variety of programs all focused on improving wellbeing?

Carla Clarence from The Australian Centre for Social Innovation (TACSI) will share insights about a project examining current mental health systems in Australia, with a view to designing a new system to provide collective, compassionate solutions to protect human rights and strengthen our wellbeing.

STEPHANIE KILPATRICK

Stephanie Kilpatrick is the Manager of Policy and Government Relations at VicHealth. Stephanie previously worked in the heart of the Victorian Government including as an adviser to the Premier and Senior Policy Adviser to the Minister for Health. Since joining VicHealth, Stephanie has VicHealth’s broad policy agenda including pursuing the integration of wellbeing into the business of governments.

MIN SETO

Min Seto leads the Australian Social Value Bank and has spent the last seven years supporting organisations on their social impact measurement journey. Min’s expertise is in social value and the wellbeing valuation methodology. She is a strong advocate for transitioning to a Wellbeing Economy where the impacts on people’s wellbeing and the planet become central to our decision-making.

CARLA CLARENCE

With a particularly strong focus on young people, the socially isolated and individuals with extremely complex life challenges, Carla believes that a combination of creative ideas and relationship building supports people in striving to create their own positive futures. Carla approaches her work with a practice-based background of case work, coaching, collaboration, management, partnership building, project development, as well as strategic planning and delivery.
