Event description

The Supportive and Palliative Care team in Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District are once again pleased to be hosting their Annual Conference. This will be an 'in person' event in Penrith in 2022.

The opening keynote address will feature Laurie Newman, Clinical Nurse Consultant in the Statewide Voluntary Assisted Dying Navigator Service for Victoria, speaking on ‘Voluntary Assisted Dying, an option, not the focus during end of life’.

The Conference will once again include a Palliative Care Symptom Update (Delirium) and Cancer Care Update (Surgery and Palliative Care).

Other sessions will explore Supportive Care in Respiratory Medicine; Palliative Care and the LGBTIQ community; Memory Making and Biography at the End-of-Life; an update from NSW Ambulance, and Compassionate Care in Practice.

This one-day Conference is most suited to Medical, Nursing and Allied Health staff and volunteers who provide clinical care and wholistic support with those at end-of-life in the Health, Aged Care, Disability and Community settings.

A specific half-day ticket is available to General Practitioners to attend either a morning or afternoon session (including lunch).
