Nerang BioBlitz: Fauna Monitoring - Camera Trap Collection
Event description
Join Friends of Nerang National Park coordinator, Vincent Watego, for a camera trap collection and data analysis expedition!
A handful of cameras have been set in Nerang National Park to monitor wildlife. This survey will be to collect the cameras and have a look at what they've captured! Findings may include: three species of wallaby, eastern grey kangaroos, common dunnarts, bush rats, koalas, a variety of birds, and more.
This will be an approximately 1 hr 30 minute walk of moderate intensity, followed by image analysis at the base in Tom Rose Park. This is ideal for those who are interested in fauna, new to survey techniques, or those who love the thrill of discovering what fauna is around!
This event is proudly supported by a Community Sustainability Action Grant from the Queensland Government.
