Nervous System Regulation Retreat
Description
Join us for a deeply nourishing full-day Nervous System Regulation Retreat designed to support you in understanding, experiencing, and gently reshaping your inner world.
This retreat weaves together accessible neuroscience with embodied practices, offering two guided sessions with your host Cassie McGee, exploring the autonomic nervous system through the lens of polyvagal theory. With a trauma-informed and neurodiversity-friendly approach, we’ll place special focus on interoception and sensory awareness—helping you build a more compassionate, attuned relationship with your body.
Throughout the day, you’ll be supported in both learning and integrating. A guided workbook will accompany your experience, giving you practical tools and reflections to take home so you can continue at your own pace long after the retreat ends.
You will be guided through a gentle yoga session led by Alana Drury, a qualified Yoga instructor. As well as our co-host, certified sound wellbeing practitioner, Sammy McDornan of Riverlea Wellness Retreat will invite us into a deeply immersive sound therapy journey. These sessions are designed to help you settle, regulate, and reconnect in a safe and supportive environment.
Nourishment is woven into every part of the day, with a delicious menu of gluten-free and dairy-free meals and snacks, including Sammy’s much-loved homemade bone broth.
Whether you’re just beginning your nervous system regulation journey or returning to deepen your practice, this retreat offers a welcoming space to explore, learn, and reconnect—with yourself and with others.
FAQs
- Do I need any prior knowledge of nervous system regulation or neuroscience?
Not at all. This retreat is designed to be accessible for beginners, while still offering depth for those who may already have some familiarity. Everything is explained in a clear, practical way, with a focus on helping you understand your own nervous system—not overwhelm you with complex theory.
- Is this more educational or experiential?
It’s a thoughtful blend of both. You’ll be guided through simple, engaging neuroscience sessions to help you understand what’s happening in your body, alongside experiential practices like yoga, sound therapy, and guided reflection. The intention is not just to learn, but to feel and integrate the practices in a way that’s meaningful and sustainable.
- Is this retreat suitable if I’m feeling burnt out or overwhelmed?
Yes—this space has been designed with that in mind. The day is gentle, supportive, and trauma-informed, with no pressure to participate beyond your comfort level. You’ll be offered practical tools to help you recognise and respond to overwhelm, while also having space to rest, reset, and reconnect with yourself at your own pace.
