Net Impact SFSU Sustainable Career Workshop
Description
Net Impact SFSU Hosts a Sustainable Career Workshop, October 29
On Thursday, October 29, the Net Impact chapter at San Francisco State hosts an evening for anyone who wants to explore a career in sustainability with people already doing the work, and to meet others interested in the field.
The workshop runs from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in LIB 121, the J. Paul Leonard Library, 1630 Holloway Avenue. Tickets are $5, with proceeds benefiting Brightline Defense, a San Francisco environmental justice nonprofit.
The panel
Alex Plowden, Senior Manager of Investor and Donor Relations at RSF Social Finance, the San Francisco lender and donor-advised fund built around regenerative finance
Eliot Scharf, Founder and Consultant, Catalytic Impact Consulting
Erica Priggen Wright, Director of Narrative Strategy at OneEarth Living, and a narrative strategist and creative producer working on social impact, sustainability and systems change
Dave Newberry, President, Net Impact San Francisco Professionals chapter, and publisher of FYP SF Bay
Who it is for
Students from any major or campus can hear how real careers in the field took shape and ask a panelist, one on one, the question they did not want to raise in front of everyone. Bring the version of your plan you have now. It does not need to be finished.
Mid-career professionals considering a move into sustainability will get a clear picture of which roles exist and what skills transfer from finance, operations, marketing, engineering, education or wherever you are now.
Professionals already working in sustainability are welcome too. Students and career changers want to hear how you got where you are, and the networking half of the evening is built for that, alongside meeting your peers in the field.
Net Impact SFSU is the student chapter of Net Impact at San Francisco State, part of a network of campus and professional chapters for people who want to use their careers for social and environmental good.
